Blueberry and Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe
Oatmeal is a great way to start the day and this Blueberry and Cinnamon Oatmeal recipe is delicious, light yet satiating. Since dairy products can often trigger acid reflux, we use Almond Milk in our recipe. Blueberries are among the most nutrient dense berries. They are rich in Vitamin C and K, fiber and manganese. They are also about 85% water, and an entire cup contains only 84 calories, with 15 grams of carbohydrates. Oatmeal is not a common trigger food in people suffering from acid reflux, and in general, incorporating high fiber foods such as oatmeal may help prevent symptoms. Cinnamon is often touted as a natural remedy for digestive problems, including GERD. It works in part by reducing stomach acid, but it also has antibiotic and antifungal properties which facilitate digestion.

Ingredients
  • 1Cup Almond Milk
  • 2/3Cup Quick Oats
  • 1tbsp Flax SeedsCrushed
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1Cup Water
  • 1/4Cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 1tsp Manuka Honey
  • 1tsp WalnutsChopped
Instructions
  1. Put the oats and water into a pan and bring to boil. Keep stirring
  2. Stir flax seeds, cinnamon, and vanilla extract into oatmeal; continue cooking until oats are tender, water is boiled off, and desired cereal consistency is reached, 2 to 3 minutes more.
  3. Stir in the almond milk and blueberries into oatmeal.
  4. Pour into a bowl. Add the honey, mix well and top off with walnuts.
  5. Your delicious breakfast is ready to serve!
