Grilled Salmon Steak Recipe
Don’t you just love the fact that one doesn’t have to do a whole lot to seafood to make it taste good?! I sure do! A grilled salmon steak tops the charts for a ‘healthy meal for diabetics ‘as it is high in omega-3 fatty acids — “heart-healthy” fats that may also boost your brain power, skin, eyesight and much more. It’s a great source of protein, low in calories, while also being chalk full of important vitamins and minerals.

  • 2 Salmon fillets
  • 2Cloves garlicMinced
  • 1tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1tsp Salt
  • 1tsp Pepper
  • 1tsp Dried Basil
  • 1tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1tbsp ParsleyFresh and Finely Chopped
  • Mixed Salad Greensto serve
  1. Mix together the garlic, olive oil, basil, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and parsley in a small bowl.
  2. Place the salmon filets in a glass dish or a re-sealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fish. Massage the marinade into the fillets so the flavors can easily permeate into the meat. Cover or seal and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  4. Remove fish filets from marinade and drain off the excess. Grill filets 5 minutes per side or until fish is done (you will know when it starts to easily flake with a fork).
  5. Serve on a bed of mixed salad greens.
