Why is this Tilapia with Cucumber Salsa and Brown Rice an amazing GERD friendly dinner recipe? Tilapia is a firm, high-protein white fish with a mild and delicate taste that readily takes on the flavors it’s cooked with. High in protein, tilapia is easy to digest and rich in healthy fats. Small doses of ginger may relieve gastrointestinal irritation. It can also reduce the likelihood of stomach acid flowing up into the esophagus. Honey is rich in antioxidants and its viscous texture eases gastrointestinal distress. Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that helps in digestion.
